Diaconal Ministry


The Scriptures uphold the office of the Deacon as a great blessing to the ministry of the gospel.  Because the Deacons provide an essential ministry to the church as officers, the character of a Deacon must be blameless.  First Timothy 3:8-13 spells out the character required of a Deacon.  When men who are full of wisdom and of the Holy Spirit exemplify this kind of character, they foster an atmosphere in the covenant community that advances the gospel of Jesus Christ.  We see this illustrated in Acts 6- where seven are chosen to serve the needs of the congregation so that the Apostles could devote themselves to prayer and the ministry of the word of God.

We are blessed to have our “Stephens” and “Philips” and “Prochoruses” at CCPC.  Our Deacons are carefully instructed and examined before being installed in the office.  They have served and continue to serve CCPC with dignity and delight under the oversight of the Session. Our current Deacons are:
