What We Value |
| |
|
We value love.
The love of God is the mark of a true Christian. Love takes many
forms. It opens up many treasures in our relationship with God and one
another.
|
| |
| We value truth.
This means that we also value thought. As
Martin Luther said, "Christianity is meant for a man with a head on his
shoulders". We believe that what someone believes is just as important as
the sincerity with which he believes it. Therefore, we want to follow the
truth even if this proves to be personally demanding. |
| |
| We value moral excellence.
True goodness of heart, not a veneer of pretended goodness, is our aim. We
are persuaded that nothing in life is as precious as real moral beauty. |
| |
| We value joy. A church
should have a sense of humor. Laughter and joy are the marks of a
living Christian hope. |
| |
| We value integrity.
Our Lord requires honesty and uprightness in all our affairs as a Church. |
| |
| We value relevance. We
want to address the needs and questions of today's world in a meaningful
way. We intend, God willing, to make our presence felt in our community. |
