Men’s Bible Study (March to July)

Beginning Saturday, March 4th, we will have a ten part study of Francis Schaeffer’s book A Christian Manifesto. I urge you to make this study a priority. Christians have been slow to understand that there are two worldviews competing for the soul of Western civilization and for the many souls within it, a humanist worldview versus a Christian worldview. The Humanist Manifestos I and II (1933 and 1973) produced by the Humanist Society articulate the worldview controlling much popular opinion and government policy for several decades. “In this view,” wrote Schaeffer, “Man is the measure of all things, as the Enlightenment expressed it.” This has contributed to the abolition of truth and morality. A Christian Manifesto is a call to the Church to be a prophetic witness to the world of the Lordship of Christ in all of life.

You may participate in the study without reading the book. We do, however, want to encourage you to read the book. So, we will make it available at no charge to those who sign up for a copy and commit to read it in conjunction with our Men’s Bible Study. It is less than 150 pages, but packed with insight from one of the leading shepherds of the Church in the 20th century. You will find the sign-up sheet on a clipboard in the narthex.

  • Romans 11:33-36

Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and how inscrutable His ways!
For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been His counselor? Or who has given a gift to Him that he might be repaid?
For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be glory forever. Amen.
